
The Gila has consistently produced trophy class bulls that hunters from around country have given chase. The units they typically hunt are primitive weapon use areas only, which haven't been rifle hunted for a good many years. Archery hunts begin generally around the 1st of September and run to the third week of September. Muzzleloader season typically begins at the end of the first week of October. Rifle hunts typically start at the end of the first week of October.

For a fully guided hunt accommodations very from hunt to hunt and species to species, camps will either be held in a lodge wall tents or out of hotel. For those that do not like the camping aspect, a "guide-only" package is available where you stay in a hotel at your own expense and provide your own meals.
